Recently, National Development Minister Lawrence Wong in his facebook post has claimed that HDB is a "good store of asset value".

1) According to the Minister, HDB is a "good store of asset value" for those who plan ahead and make prudent housing decisions.

2) Not all HDB flats will be eligible for Selective En Bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS)

3) It is not a good idea for home buyers to fork out high prices for older flats in hope of benefiting from SERS. There is a risk that the HDB will be returned to the state once its lease is up. 

4) There are various schemes for Singaporeans to take advantage of instead of chasing after old flats in hope of a SERS.
