My approach in trading futures
20 Jan 2022 (232 views)

I share my experience on trading in futures.

Before you proceed to read this post, I need to give the following warning:

a) Trading is risky. While one can make money on trading, it is easier to lose money.
b) Trade only with money that you can afford to lose.
c) Practice trading with a Demo account (e.g. Plus 500) and gain the experience.
d) Active trading takes a lot of time. It is suitable only for people who are full time traders or retirees.
e) Apart from the market risk, some individuals face the risk of market manipulation by the big traders.

Having given the above warning and suggestion (which you should pay attention), I now share my experience.

See the graphic below.

My steps are:

a) I read the daily email from my stockbroker giving the trend for the day for the future contracts that I trade in (e.g. Gold, Oil).

b) I monitor the price movements during the day with the charts in Plus 500.

c) I take a long or short position. I trade with Philip Nova, but Plus 500 may be more suitable for small trader.

I make profit on some days and losses on other days. It is not easy to make a profit. It is easier to lose money, especially when one panics.
